Leadership-where have we gone astray?

I think leadersip in our country, our states, our towns, our organizations-everywhere, is just missing the whole idea . A leader, even though he may be elected by a certain group with specific ideas, owes the entire group that he/she is leading , fair and all inclusive representation. The president of the U. S. doesn't represent just the Democrats or the Republicans who voted for him, but the entire nation of all political persuations. I think that all leaders everywhere have lost sight of this. Everyone is pandering to those who elected or appointed them, to special interest groups that "suport'" them, etc. You all have the picture. The question is how do we fix this grievous error on the part of leadership? Do we need to groom or educate special people for the job of leadership? This kind of sounds like either an elitist group or a monarchy-don't think that's the right aproach! Maybe we need to bring "Ethics" back to the classrom and back into our lives!
I actualy think we are missing good old fashioned Ethics in every part of our existence. If we understood and embraced ethics, would there be less or maybe no irregular or illegal busines practices, fair government, more judicious legal outcomes, more honest, ethical and unbiased media coverage, ---everything would be better-even the entertainment we, and more
importantly, our children see or hear would be better!
I think we ought to give it a try, afterall it couldn't hurt!

Why am I blogging?

I posted a blog yesterday about tv and nobody commented on it. I'd like people to read my blogs, because I'm not doing this to hear myself talk. I have some ideas to write about, but don't know how to get people to read them. Sometimes I'll have input from others I want share and sometimes I'll be asking you out there to share your thoughts or experiences.
Some things I'll be talking about in the future are:
How can we help hunger and related problems right here in the U.S.A.?
How can we control our out of control personal debt? Are there real solutions? I think so!
Are any of those "Get Rich" programs/courses/books true? How about feedback from those
who have tried them?
Investing vs Gamboling__which do you do? which is right for you?
Real Estate--Where is it now? Where is it going?

These are some things I'de like to talk about. Would you like to read and comment?

Let"s talk about the state of network TV!

What are we watching? A lot of junk, I'd say. Do they think everyone out there in the TV viewing audience is a teenager? Well, we are not. All you seem to find on tv is "Reality" shows (the cheapest to produce) and the same shows repeated in slightly disguised form--"Law and Order" and its various recreations that are on almost every night(as well as re-runs on another network) and "CSI Miami" or New York or wherever!
We need more creative programming and better program directors. How about a mystery show that doesn't tell you who did it right from the start, but one that keeps you glued to your seat to the end trying to figure it out! ( Anyone remember "Perry Mason"?)Well, yes --the audience out there can think and figure things out!!! Also, how about some really funny comedies that don't use bathroom humor(so childish and uncreative), but real humor that comes from really talented writers!
There is a fairly new show on that I believe shows some really creative writing--The Big Bang.
It's different and quite funny, without resorting to bathroom humor or body parts.
I remember Seinfeld's monologues--at the beginning or end of the show--he talked about ordinary everyday things that people do, and it was funny.
I think the people who choose the shows have to do a better job or get new people to do it.
For instance, I know of a gentleman who is very clever at choosing hit comedy shows. He has predicted the success and failure of every comedy program he has seen from just the first episode(the pilot) or sometimes only the first part of the first show. He picked "The Simpsons" from a small segment that was originally shown on the Tracy Ulmann show. He slated it for sucsess from the first time he saw it on her show. He seems to understand what is really funny and which shows will work as well as which ones wont. If a network had him choosing comedies they'd have ratings through the roof.
Well that's all for now What do you think ?
