Leadership-where have we gone astray?

I think leadersip in our country, our states, our towns, our organizations-everywhere, is just missing the whole idea . A leader, even though he may be elected by a certain group with specific ideas, owes the entire group that he/she is leading , fair and all inclusive representation. The president of the U. S. doesn't represent just the Democrats or the Republicans who voted for him, but the entire nation of all political persuations. I think that all leaders everywhere have lost sight of this. Everyone is pandering to those who elected or appointed them, to special interest groups that "suport'" them, etc. You all have the picture. The question is how do we fix this grievous error on the part of leadership? Do we need to groom or educate special people for the job of leadership? This kind of sounds like either an elitist group or a monarchy-don't think that's the right aproach! Maybe we need to bring "Ethics" back to the classrom and back into our lives!
I actualy think we are missing good old fashioned Ethics in every part of our existence. If we understood and embraced ethics, would there be less or maybe no irregular or illegal busines practices, fair government, more judicious legal outcomes, more honest, ethical and unbiased media coverage, ---everything would be better-even the entertainment we, and more
importantly, our children see or hear would be better!
I think we ought to give it a try, afterall it couldn't hurt!
